Deckidee/Strategie: Zentrales Thema meiner Variante des vorkonstruierten Kommandeur-Decks "Hunger nach Macht" ist das nutzbringende Opfern von Kreaturen. Natürlich sollten die Opfertierchen nicht zu wertvoll sein, deshalb setzt man hier auf Spielsteine oder auf Kreaturen, die vom Friedhof wieder zurück kommen können. Der Kommandeur Prossh, Himmelsjäger von Kher (Prossh, Skyraider of Kher) deckt sowohl die Spielsteinproduktion als auch die Opfermöglichkeit ab, und auch wenn es nicht das ausschließliche Ziel dieses Decks ist, über Kommandeurschaden zu gewinnen, gelingt es doch gelegentlich – und manchmal auch nur mit einem einzigen Angriff.
In meiner Überarbeitung habe ich den Fokus vor allem auf die Haupt-Spielmechaniken gelegt. Bei den Spielsteinen geht es wild durcheinander, erzeugt werden Kobolde, Pflanzen, Saprolinge, Elfen-Krieger, Thrulls, Ophis, Elementarwesen, Zombies, Bestien und Dämonen, von 0/1 bis 5/5 – sofern sie nicht gleich als Kopien vom Wesen der Wildnis (Essence of the Wild) ins Spiel kommen. Hier sorgen Spielstein-Verdoppler für Masse, während Mazirek, Kraul-Todespriester (Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest) und Aufstieg des Bändigers (Beastmaster Ascension) die Schlagkraft erhöhen.
Besonders hervorzuheben sind Karten, die ohne weitere Zutaten besonders gut mit Prossh, Himmelsjäger von Kher (Prossh, Skyraider of Kher) harmonieren: Ashnods Altar (Ashnod's Altar) erlaubt uns (sofern wir das farbige Mana aus anderer Quelle beisteuern – ein Phyrexianischer Altar (Phyrexian Altar) ist aus Kostengründen nicht drin), den Kommandeur selbst in die Kommandozone zurückzuschicken und von dort für höhere Kosten neu auszuspielen, um die Zahl der Kobolde und/oder die Menge an farblosem Mana in noch größere Höhen zu treiben; der eher unscheinbare Ork-Scharfschütze (Orc Sureshot) lässt uns schon beim ersten Auftritt des Kommandeurs –7/–7 auf gegnerische Kreaturen verteilen (das hilft auch gegen unzerstörbare Viecher); Purphoros, Gott der Schmiede (Purphoros, God of the Forge) begleitet das mit 14 Schaden auf jeden Gegner und kann die vielen Spielsteine später auch noch stärker machen; und mit Bewaffnet / Gefährlich (Armed / Dangerous) kann man den Gegner zwingen, einen 0/1 Kobold zu blocken, während unser Kommandeur mit Doppelschlag durchkommt und dabei für maximale Schlagkraft alle Gefährten frisst.
Hinweis zur Deckliste: Um anderen Besitzern des Decks "Hunger nach Macht" einen Anhaltspunkt zu geben, was ich gegenüber der Originalliste geändert habe, ist bei jeder Karte angegeben, ob sie beibehalten wurde oder neu ins Deck gekommen ist. Im ersten Kommentar zum Deck (siehe unten) gibt es außerdem eine Liste mit allen Karten, die ich entfernt habe.
Stärken: Kann Unmengen von Spielsteinen erzeugen und mit einem einzigen Angriff gewinnen.
Schwächen: Die meisten Spielsteine sind klein, sie taugen nur nach Aufwertung oder als Opfertierchen.
Schlüsselkarten: Prossh, Himmelsjäger von Kher (Prossh, Skyraider of Kher) und Endrek Sahr, Meisterzüchter (Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder), dazu Parallel-Leben (Parallel Lives) und Zeit der Verdopplung (Doubling Season); Todespakt (Grave Pact) um die Gegner mit opfern zu lassen

Noch eine Anmerkung: Mit der Veröffentlichung dieses Decks habe ich mich sehr schwer getan. Das lag nicht daran, dass das Deck zu schwach war oder schlechte Karten enthielt. Im Gegenteil, es gab so viele thematisch passende und gute Karten, dass es eine Qual war, unter Berücksichtigung der Manakurve die besten davon zu identifizieren, die ins Deck sollten, und zu entscheiden, welche außen vor bleiben müssen.

Das bedeutet: Der aktuelle Stand ist vermutlich noch nicht der letzte. Dennoch bin ich mit dem Deck, so wie es jetzt ist, schon sehr zufrieden. Es macht Spaß, ist sehr abwechslungsreich und oft genug erfolgreich – und das sind bereits drei Gründe, es zu veröffentlichen.
